As the Animation Supervisor for Kubo and the Two Strings, The Boxtrolls, and ParaNorman, Brad has had the privilege of overseeing LAIKA's world class team of animators who consistently push the art of stop-motion animation beyond its perceived limits.
Brad originally honed his stop-motion skills on popular television shows including Will Vinton's The PJ's and feature films including Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Brad earned an Oscar nomination in the VFX category and won a Visual Effects Society award for his contribution to Kubo and the Two Strings. Brad will take us through the evolution of facial animation throughout the last two decades from stick on mouths to 3D rapid prototype replacement animation, the steps of an animated shot, and other aspects of the "naturalistic" performances they shoot at LAIKA.
